Vrishabh Rashifal for 9 Jul: Work, Love and Health

Aaj ka Vrishabh rashifal, read from your Moon sign. Vrishabh (वृषभ) is the 2nd rashi, 30° to 60° of the sidereal zodiac, ruled by Venus, and it holds Krittika padas 2 to 4, all four padas of Rohini and Mrigashira padas 1 and 2. In English it is called Taurus, but here it means the sign the Moon was in at your birth, not your birthday sign. Every line below names its graha, the house that graha holds from Vrishabh and the classical verse behind it.

2 of the 9 planets support · 7 need attention

The day's main graha: the Moon (in the attention list).

Jupiter in Singh, your 4th (mother, home and happiness), until 26 Nov, 6:45 PM: classically not a favourable house, but with the Moon and Mars in your 5th the texts reverse it (reverse vedha), so the texts count it supportive; classical reading: matters with relatives.

Venus in Mithun, your 2nd (family, wealth and speech), until 23 Jul, 1:47 AM: classically a favourable house; classical reading: money and family.

The Moon in Kanya, your 5th (children, education and intelligence), until Sunday 11 Jul, 10:54 AM: classically not a favourable house; classical reading: slow progress in work.

Mercury in Mithun, your 2nd, until 30 Jul, 6:31 PM: classically a favourable house, but Mars in your 5th holds it back (vedha), so its support is held back; classical reading: money.

Saturn in Mesh, your 12th (expenses, foreign lands and moksha), until 20 Oct, 7:12 AM: classically not a favourable house; classical reading: low spirits.

Rahu in Makar, your 9th (fortune, dharma and father), until 24 May 2028, 3:08 PM: classically not a favourable house; classical reading: low spirits.

Ketu in Kark, your 3rd (courage and siblings), until 24 May 2028, 3:08 PM: classically a favourable house, but Saturn in your 12th holds it back (vedha), so its support is held back; classical reading: happiness.

The Sun in Mithun, your 2nd (family, wealth and speech), until 17 Jul, 5:49 AM: classically not favourable for money.

Mercury in Mithun, your 2nd (family, wealth and speech), until 30 Jul, 6:31 PM: classically favourable for money, but Mars in your 5th holds it back (vedha), so its support is held back.

A name rashi is the janma rashi only when the name was chosen from the birth nakshatra's syllable. Each fact is given in at least two classical texts, and where the texts differ both readings are shown. Left out: the element (tattva), which only one of the texts we read gives (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra 4); and any colour, number or stone for a rashi, which none of them ties to good fortune.

Questions

Vrishabh Rashi Questions

Who is the lord (swami) of Vrishabh rashi?

Venus, the lord of Vrishabh, is in Mithun on 9 Jul, the 2nd house from Vrishabh, until 23 Jul, 1:47 AM. Venus rules Vrishabh in every classical text we read: Brihat Jataka 1.6, Saravali 3.11 and Phaladeepika 1.6. Venus also rules Tula.

Which name letters (naam akshar) belong to Vrishabh rashi?

On 9 Jul, the Moon is in Kanya; its next stay in Vrishabh runs from 28 Jul, 11:39 AM to 30 Jul, 2:30 PM: a child born in those hours has Vrishabh as janma rashi. Vrishabh's nine name syllables, one for each nakshatra pada, are I, U, E (Krittika 2–4); O, Va, Vi, Vu (Rohini 1–4); Ve, Vo (Mrigashira 1–2). A name starting with one of them gives Vrishabh as the name rashi, which matches the janma rashi only when the name was chosen from the birth nakshatra.

Which nakshatras are in Vrishabh rashi?

On 9 Jul, the Moon is in Uttara Phalguni; its next pass through Vrishabh begins in Krittika pada 2, from 28 Jul, 11:39 AM. Vrishabh covers 30° to 60° of the sidereal zodiac: Krittika padas 2 to 4, all four padas of Rohini and Mrigashira padas 1 and 2, nine nakshatra padas in all, as every rashi has (Brihat Jataka 1.4, Hora Sara 1.13). If your rashi is Vrishabh, your birth nakshatra is one of these.

What are Vrishabh rashi people like?

They are described as generous, forgiving and patient, graceful in bearing, and wise enough to tell right from wrong. All three texts call the middle and later years of life the happier ones. These are the points that at least two of Brihat Jataka 17.2, Saravali 23.8 and Hora Sara 29.2 share. Brihat Jataka 17.13 adds that this picture holds in full only when the Moon, Vrishabh and its lord Venus are all strong in the birth chart, and Hora Sara 29.13 that a graha joining or aspecting the Moon changes it, so your own kundli says more than the rashi alone.

When do Sade Sati and Shani dhaiya start and end for Vrishabh rashi?

Sade Sati is running for Vrishabh on 9 Jul, in its first phase: Saturn is in Mesh, the 12th house from Vrishabh. It began on 3 Jun and ends with Saturn's final exit on 13 Jul 2034, with Saturn stepping out of it from 20 Oct to 23 Feb 2028. The next dhaiya (Saturn in the 4th) for Vrishabh runs from 27 Aug 2036 to 13 Jul 2039, with Saturn stepping out of it from 22 Oct 2038 to 5 Apr 2039. Each span runs from Saturn's first entry to its final exit, with every pause shown, and is counted from the Moon sign as Phaladeepika 26.22–23 and Brihat Samhita 104 count it. Classically Sade Sati and dhaiya ask for steady effort and patience; neither is a fixed outcome.

When does the time change for Vrishabh rashi?

Saturn moves into Meen on 20 Oct, 7:12 AM, the 11th house from Vrishabh; Jupiter moves into Kanya on 26 Nov, 6:45 PM, the 5th house from Vrishabh; Rahu moves into Dhanu and Ketu into Mithun on 24 May 2028, 3:08 PM, the 8th and 2nd houses from Vrishabh (true node; by the mean node many almanacs print, on 24 Jun 2028). Saturn, Jupiter and Rahu–Ketu stay in a sign for many months, so their changes set the background for Vrishabh, and each change above names the house it brings. The daily reading on this page weighs all nine grahas together, and no rashi has a good or a poor time as a whole.

What is Vrishabh rashi in English?

On 9 Jul, at 3:00 PM, the Sun is in Cancer 16°59′ by the tropical zodiac that birthday signs use, but in Mithun 22°44′ by the sidereal zodiac of Vedic astrology. Vrishabh is called Taurus in English, yet a rashi is the Moon's sign at birth in the sidereal zodiac, not the birthday sign, so someone whose birthday makes them Taurus need not have Vrishabh rashi.

Combust (asta)
Lost in the Sun's glare; in a favourable house its support is muted (Phaladeepika 26.32). Guru and Shukra: while not seen from India's reference latitude, 23°11′N (IAE); Mars, Mercury and Saturn by the books' degrees (Surya Siddhanta 9.6–9.8).
Felt most
The third of a sign in which a graha's transit is classically felt most: the Sun and Mars the first, Jupiter and Venus the middle, the Moon and Saturn the last (Phaladeepika 26.25; Muhurta Chintamani 4.19).
Mean-node reckoning
Rahu and Ketu by their average motion, which many almanacs print; its dates can differ from the true node by days.

Debilitated (neecha)
The sign opposite its exaltation, where a graha is weakest (BPHS ch. 3).
Own sign (swarashi)
A sign the graha rules (BPHS ch. 3).
