  • Retrograde
  • Combust
  • Eclipse observed in India
  • Eclipse not counted in India
  • Vikram Samvat 2084 begins
  • Sankranti

Each bar is a slow planet's stay in a sign through 2027, with exaltation, debilitation and own sign marked; the markers show the five eclipses, the Hindu new year and each sankranti.

Checked on 21 Oct 2026: every sign change and station of 2027 against Swiss Ephemeris (within a minute) and two publishers, and the eclipses against NASA. All times are Indian Standard Time (IST). The year runs from 1 January to 31 December 2027.

Why This Rashifal 2027 Reads Differently

  • One system: every rashi is your Moon sign in the sidereal zodiac, as Phaladeepika 26.1 directs.
  • Every date comes from our own calculation (NASA JPL DE440 positions, Lahiri ayanamsa), with the true and the mean node side by side.
  • Every line names its planet, its house from your Moon sign and its classical source.

Which Rashi Is Mine? Your Moon Sign, Not Your Birthday Sign

Moon sign (janma rashi)
The sign the Moon was in at your birth. A Vedic rashifal is read from it, and so is this page.
Sun sign
The birthday sign of Western astrology, from the tropical zodiac. It is a different system; for most people it is not their rashi.
Name rashi
The rashi of your name's first syllable. It matches your janma rashi only when the name was given from your birth nakshatra's syllable, so use it only when the birth date is not known.

Western (tropical) charts keep Saturn in Aries all of 2027; by the Moon-sign (sidereal) reckoning used here Saturn is in Meen until 3 Jun, in Mesh from 3 Jun to 20 Oct and in Meen from 20 Oct.

How We Work Out Rashifal 2027

What we apply

  • There is no classical formula for a year: the texts read each planet's transit from your Moon sign and add that the result for you depends on your own chart's dasha and ashtakavarga. So the year here is the slow planets' stays, each with its classical reading, over the calendar year (1 January to 31 December).
  • The year is read from the four slow grahas, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu, by their house from your Moon sign, with the same rules as our daily rashifal: favourable houses, vedha, own or exaltation sign, debilitation or an unfriendly sign, and combustion.
  • A period runs from one slow sign change, or one change in Jupiter's or Saturn's combustion, to the next. Within a period only Jupiter and Saturn count as obstructors (vedha); the faster grahas' vedha lasts days or weeks, so it is listed with its dates in the month cards and does not change a period. This standing-state reading is our own method.
  • Each period's label is our own method, not a classical score: of the four slow grahas, more supportive than asking for patience reads supportive, fewer reads a time for patience, equal reads mixed. The counts are shown beside it. There is no single label for the whole year.
  • The four life areas are our own grouping of houses whose meanings in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra ch. 11 name them: work and money (10th, 6th, 3rd, 11th, 2nd, 12th), love and family (7th, 4th, 2nd), health (1st, 6th), and, on the yearly page, study, children and faith (5th, 9th).
  • When Jupiter or Saturn enters a sign while moving forward and the Sun is then in your 3rd, 6th, 10th or 11th, and is itself counted supportive there (not in its debilitation sign or an unfriendly sign), a separate line says the Sun's strength at the entry supports the stay (Muhurta Chintamani 3.19; Jyotirnibandha p. 52). Only this lifting side is in both texts, so only it is shown, and it never changes a label. Entries made while retrograde are skipped: no text says whether they count.
  • At each sankranti the Moon's place from your Moon sign is read as Chandrabala at that very moment, never at sunrise (Muhurta Chintamani 3.19; Narada Samhita 11.26). When the Moon changes sign within 30 minutes of the sankranti, the line is left out.
  • An eclipse in your 3rd, 6th, 10th or 11th is classically favourable for up to six months; elsewhere it asks for care (Muhurta Chintamani 4.6; Daivajna-manohara). The texts do not say whether an eclipse unseen at your place counts; tradition observes only a visible eclipse that is not penumbral, so the house reading is given only for those. That is our reading.
  • Combustion uses the panchang's orbs (Jupiter 11 degrees, Saturn 15 degrees from the Sun). Almanacs that print Guru or Shani asta by when the planet stops being visible at dawn or dusk give dates a few days apart.
  • Eclipse times are worked out to the second and printed to the nearest minute; the greatest moment is found between the minutes, not on them. The sutak moves with the first contact.
  • A station is the moment the planet's speed against the stars is zero. Mars', Jupiter's and Saturn's stations are given by date only, since the minute depends on the definition used.
  • Every house is counted from your Moon sign, as Phaladeepika 26.1 directs, in the sidereal zodiac (Lahiri ayanamsa) with NASA JPL DE440 positions; Rahu and Ketu use the true node, as our kundli does, with the mean-node date many almanacs print shown beside it.
  • A transit's house verdict follows Phaladeepika 26.2, Brihat Samhita 104.4 and Muhurta Chintamani 4.1–3, which agree; the result named for each house is used only where Phaladeepika and Brihat Samhita agree.
  • Vedha is counted from your Moon sign (Narada), with no vedha between the Sun and Saturn or the Moon and Mercury.
  • Rahu and Ketu in a favourable house are held back in the same way by any of the seven grahas (Muhurta Chintamani 4.1; Kalaprakashika 36.18).
  • Reverse vedha counts a placement that asks for patience as supportive while another graha sits in its paired favourable house (Muhurta Chintamani 4.4; Narada Samhita 12.8), counted from your Moon sign; it never changes Chandrashtama.
  • In a favourable house, a graha in its debilitation sign or in an unfriendly sign gives muted support (Phaladeepika 26.32; Brihat Samhita 104.53).
  • In a favourable house, a graha close to the Sun (combust) gives muted support (Phaladeepika 26.32; Narada Samhita 12.11).
  • In a house that asks for patience, a graha in its own or exaltation sign does not work against you (Phaladeepika 26.31; Kalaprakashika 36.12).
  • When own or exaltation sign and combustion meet, no text read ranks one above the other, so the row is shown as mixed with both facts.
  • Rahu or Ketu in the 10th is read as a time for patience, as five texts read it (Muhurta Chintamani, Kalaprakashika, Sharngadhara, Jyotihprakasha and Shripati); Phaladeepika counts it favourable, so 'Texts differ' is shown beside it.
  • Retrograde is shown as a fact only. The texts disagree on what it means in transit, so a retrograde graha is read from the sign it occupies.

What we leave out, and why

  • Some texts say a slow planet's next sign begins to be felt months before it enters. They do not say how this works when the planet turns back, as Saturn does in 2027, so it is not used.
  • The 'double transit' of Jupiter and Saturn is a modern technique for a birth chart, not found in the gochara chapters read, so it is not used.
  • Jupiter's fast motion (atichara) belongs to muhurta, not to gochara results, so it is not used.
  • No gochara text grades a result by the planet's degree in a sign, so degrees are not used.
  • The year's raja and mantri, and the North Indian name of the samvatsara, are about the land rather than your rashi, and are not confirmed by a second source, so they are left out.
  • A lunar eclipse that is only penumbral is listed as astronomy but not counted as a grahan.

Held back until checked

  • Rahu and Ketu are given no exaltation or own sign here, because the texts disagree on them.
  • Kakshya timing is described in Phaladeepika 23.16–19 as another school's view and is not found in the other texts, so it is not used.
  • Saturn's 'paya' (gold, silver, copper or iron) is not shown: no verse for it was found in the main texts, and the popular rules disagree.
  • The classical texts say a favourable placement is held back by 'other grahas' without saying whether Rahu and Ketu count, so we count only the seven visible grahas as obstructors.
  • Reverse vedha is not applied to Rahu and Ketu: only one text reads it that way, so a node in a house that asks for patience is counted there as it is.

Questions

Rashifal 2027 Questions

How will 2027 be for my rashi?

2027 turns on 5 dates when Jupiter or Saturn changes sign: 25 Jan, 3 Jun, 26 Jun, 20 Oct and 26 Nov. Each rashi's page reads the year period by period from the house each slow graha is in; no rashi has one reading for the whole year.

Which rashi should I read for 2027: Moon sign, birthday sign or name?

Your Moon sign (janma rashi): the sign the Moon was in at your birth, which the texts use for transits. Western charts keep Saturn in Aries all of 2027; by the Moon-sign reckoning it is in Mesh only from 3 Jun to 20 Oct.

When does Saturn change sign in 2027?

In 2027: Saturn into Mesh on 3 Jun, 5:28 AM; Saturn into Meen on 20 Oct, 7:12 AM. After that, Saturn's next sign change is on 23 Feb 2028, 7:24 PM. Pages that use UTC print 2 June for the 3 Jun entry.

Which rashis have Sade Sati in 2027?

Until 3 Jun: Mesh (first phase), Kumbh (third phase) and Meen (second phase); from 3 Jun to 20 Oct: Mesh (second phase), Vrishabh (first phase) and Meen (third phase); from 20 Oct: Mesh (first phase), Kumbh (third phase) and Meen (second phase).

When does Kumbh's Sade Sati end?

Sade Sati for Kumbh pauses on 3 Jun, resumes on 20 Oct and makes its final exit on 23 Feb 2028. Traditionally this passage rewards steady effort, discipline and looking after health.

When does Sade Sati begin for Vrishabh?

For Vrishabh, Sade Sati begins on 3 Jun and pauses from 20 Oct to 23 Feb 2028. The whole Sade Sati runs from 3 Jun to 13 Jul 2034.

Which rashis have Shani dhaiya in 2027?

Until 3 Jun: Singh (8th) and Dhanu (4th); from 3 Jun to 20 Oct: Kanya (8th) and Makar (4th); from 20 Oct: Singh (8th) and Dhanu (4th).

Where is Jupiter in 2027?

Jupiter is in Singh until 25 Jan; Kark from 25 Jan to 26 Jun; Singh from 26 Jun to 26 Nov; Kanya from 26 Nov.

Why does Jupiter go back into Kark in January 2027?

Jupiter turns retrograde on 13 Dec 2026, moves back into Kark on 25 Jan, 1:31 AM and turns direct on 13 Apr. Kark is its exaltation sign.

Do Rahu and Ketu change sign in 2027?

No. Rahu stays in Makar and Ketu in Kark all of 2027. The next change comes on 24 May 2028, 3:08 PM (mean node: 24 Jun 2028).

Why do sites print different dates and times for the same transit?

Five causes explain nearly every difference: the true node against the mean node for Rahu and Ketu; dates printed in UTC rather than Indian time; two slightly different ways of applying the Lahiri ayanamsa, which can move a time by minutes and, near midnight, the date; the definition of a station; and combustion counted by visibility rather than by distance from the Sun. For example, Rahu entered Makar on 25 Nov 2026 by the true node and on 5 Dec 2026 by the mean node. We show the true node with the mean-node date beside it.

When are the eclipses in 2027, and which can be seen in India?

5 eclipses: 6 Feb (annular solar eclipse), 21 Feb (penumbral lunar eclipse), 18 Jul (penumbral lunar eclipse), 2 Aug (total solar eclipse) and 17 Aug (penumbral lunar eclipse). The one observed in India is on 2 Aug, seen from most of India as a partial eclipse (New Delhi: on 2 Aug, from 3:53 PM to 5:03 PM). The penumbral ones (21 Feb, 18 Jul and 17 Aug) are not counted as grahan.

Is there a sutak for the 2 August 2027 solar eclipse?

By the panchang's rule, in New Delhi the sutak runs on 2 Aug, from 3:53 AM to 5:03 PM: 12 hours before the eclipse begins there, to its end. It differs by city. Children, the elderly and the unwell are traditionally exempt.

When is Mercury retrograde in 2027?

Mercury is retrograde from 9 Feb, 11:06 PM to 3 Mar, 6:03 PM, from 10 Jun, 11:45 PM to 5 Jul, 1:11 AM and from 7 Oct, 8:06 PM to 28 Oct, 7:41 PM.

Mars is retrograde from 10 Jan to 1 Apr.

When is Saturn retrograde in 2027?

Saturn is retrograde from 9 Aug to 24 Dec.

Which rashis have the most support in 2027?

Classically, no rashi has one reading for the whole year. Supportive windows, rashi by rashi: for Mesh, Jupiter in the 5th (until 25 Jan, from 26 Jun to 16 Aug and from 15 Sep to 26 Nov); for Vrishabh, Saturn in the 11th (until 21 Mar, from 25 Apr to 3 Jun and from 20 Oct to 26 Nov) and Ketu in the 3rd (until 3 Jun and from 20 Oct); for Mithun, Jupiter in the 2nd (from 25 Jan to 26 Jun); for Kark, Jupiter in the 2nd (until 25 Jan, from 26 Jun to 16 Aug and from 15 Sep to 26 Nov); for Singh, Rahu in the 6th (until 3 Jun and from 20 Oct); for Kanya, Ketu in the 11th (all year) and Jupiter in the 11th (from 25 Jan to 3 Jun); for Tula, Jupiter in the 11th (until 25 Jan, from 26 Jun to 16 Aug and from 15 Sep to 26 Nov) and Saturn in the 6th (until 21 Mar, from 25 Apr to 3 Jun and from 20 Oct); for Vrishchik, Rahu in the 3rd (all year), Jupiter in the 9th (from 25 Jan to 26 Jun) and Saturn in the 5th (from 26 Nov, by reverse vedha); for Dhanu, Jupiter in the 9th (until 25 Jan, from 26 Jun to 16 Aug and from 15 Sep to 26 Nov); for Makar, Saturn in the 3rd (until 21 Mar, from 25 Apr to 3 Jun and from 20 Oct) and Jupiter in the 7th (from 3 Jun to 26 Jun); for Kumbh, Jupiter in the 7th (until 25 Jan and from 20 Oct to 26 Nov) and Ketu in the 6th (all year); for Meen, Rahu in the 11th (until 25 Jan and from 26 Jun) and Jupiter in the 5th (from 25 Jan to 26 Jun). Jupiter in Kanya (from 26 Nov) is in a favourable house for Vrishabh (5th), Singh (2nd), Vrishchik (11th), Makar (9th) and Meen (7th), but its support is muted, as Kanya is an unfriendly sign for it; Saturn in Mesh (from 3 Jun to 20 Oct) is in a favourable house for Mithun (11th), Vrishchik (6th) and Kumbh (3rd), but its support is muted, as Mesh is its debilitation sign.

Is 2027 the year of any one rashi or planet?

No: in Jyotish no rashi owns a calendar year, and a year number belongs to numerology, not to transits. Vikram Samvat 2084 begins on 7 Apr. The samvat's raja and mantri describe the land, not your rashi, and are left out.

When does the Hindu new year 2027 begin?

On Wednesday 7 Apr, Chaitra Shukla Pratipada: Vikram Samvat 2084 and Shaka 1949 begin. Mesh Sankranti, the solar new year, is on 14 Apr, 3:28 PM.

Is the 2027 rashifal month by month?

Yes: each rashi's page has 12 month cards, each with that month's sankranti, the moves of Mars, Mercury and Venus with their house, and the Chandrashtama days. The first is Makar Sankranti on 14 Jan, 9:10 PM.

What does 2027 show for marriage for my rashi?

Classically supportive, rashi by rashi: for Makar, Jupiter in the 7th (from 3 Jun to 26 Jun); for Kumbh, Jupiter in the 7th (until 25 Jan and from 20 Oct to 26 Nov). Jupiter in Kanya (from 26 Nov) is in a favourable house for Meen (7th), but its support is muted, as Kanya is an unfriendly sign for it. For one person the timing needs their own kundli and dasha.

How will 2027 be for career and jobs?

Classically supportive, rashi by rashi: for Vrishabh, Saturn in the 11th (until 21 Mar, from 25 Apr to 3 Jun and from 20 Oct to 26 Nov) and Ketu in the 3rd (until 3 Jun and from 20 Oct); for Singh, Rahu in the 6th (until 3 Jun and from 20 Oct); for Kanya, Ketu in the 11th (all year) and Jupiter in the 11th (from 25 Jan to 3 Jun); for Tula, Jupiter in the 11th (until 25 Jan, from 26 Jun to 16 Aug and from 15 Sep to 26 Nov) and Saturn in the 6th (until 21 Mar, from 25 Apr to 3 Jun and from 20 Oct); for Vrishchik, Rahu in the 3rd (all year); for Makar, Saturn in the 3rd (until 21 Mar, from 25 Apr to 3 Jun and from 20 Oct); for Kumbh, Ketu in the 6th (all year); for Meen, Rahu in the 11th (until 25 Jan and from 26 Jun). Jupiter in Kanya (from 26 Nov) is in a favourable house for Vrishchik (11th), but its support is muted, as Kanya is an unfriendly sign for it; Saturn in Mesh (from 3 Jun to 20 Oct) is in a favourable house for Mithun (11th), Vrishchik (6th) and Kumbh (3rd), but its support is muted, as Mesh is its debilitation sign. For one person the timing needs their own kundli and dasha.

How will 2027 be for students?

Classically supportive, rashi by rashi: for Mesh, Jupiter in the 5th (until 25 Jan, from 26 Jun to 16 Aug and from 15 Sep to 26 Nov); for Vrishchik, Jupiter in the 9th (from 25 Jan to 26 Jun) and Saturn in the 5th (from 26 Nov, by reverse vedha); for Dhanu, Jupiter in the 9th (until 25 Jan, from 26 Jun to 16 Aug and from 15 Sep to 26 Nov); for Meen, Jupiter in the 5th (from 25 Jan to 26 Jun). Jupiter in Kanya (from 26 Nov) is in a favourable house for Vrishabh (5th) and Makar (9th), but its support is muted, as Kanya is an unfriendly sign for it. For one person the timing needs their own kundli and dasha.

Is the yearly rashifal the same for everyone with my rashi?

It is general: it reads the transits from your Moon sign alone. Classically, your own lagna, running dasha and ashtakavarga decide how a transit works out for you.

How is this rashifal 2027 worked out, and how were the dates checked?

Positions come from NASA JPL DE440 with the Lahiri ayanamsa; Rahu and Ketu by the true node, with the mean-node date beside it; each house reading from Phaladeepika 26, Brihat Samhita 104 and Muhurta Chintamani 4 where they agree. Checked on 21 Oct 2026: every sign change and station of 2027 against Swiss Ephemeris (within a minute) and two publishers, and the eclipses against NASA.
